Purchasing & Accessing Patterns
How do I purchase a pattern?
Go to the pattern shop page and click on the picture for the pattern you’d like to purchase then follow the steps below to purchase directly through the website.
You can also purchase directly through Ravelry – the link to the Ravelry pattern listing will be right below the purchase button.
Click on the ‘Buy Now’ button and a shopping cart page will open.
Enter your email address (your download file will be delivered to this address so make sure it is correct).
Choose your method of payment (credit card or PayPal) and enter the relevant information.
Finalize your purchase by clicking the purchase button.
A download page will open. Click the button to download the pattern to your computer, phone, or other device.
The pattern will also be sent to the email address that you provided during the checkout process.
How do I download the pattern I’ve purchased?
After purchasing, a download screen will appear. Click the button to download the pattern to your computer, phone, or other device.
If you accidentally close the window before downloading the file check your email inbox for an email containing a download link.
A download page will open. Click the button to download the pattern to your computer, phone, or other device.
The pattern will also be sent to the email address that you provided during the checkout process.
You should find the following email in your inbox:
The email message contains a receipt of the transaction for your records as well as a download button. Click the button which will open a second window with a download screen.
Download the file to your computer, phone, or device.
Save the email so you can access the download in the future.

My pattern included a bonus worksheet. How do I access those?
If you purchased through the website, the files are listed separately in the initial download screen and in the email that is sent after purchase.
If you purchased through Ravelry, you should be able to go to your Ravelry library and download the bonus worksheets from there.
How can I find a pattern that I’ve purchased?
A link to download the file along with a receipt for your purchase is automatically sent to the email address you provide during the checkout process. You can download the pattern by clicking on the link in the email.
You should find the following email in your inbox:
The email message contains a receipt of the transaction for your records as well as a download button.
Click the ‘Download Now’ button.
Save the email so you can access the download in the future.
Click the ‘Download’ button to download the file to your computer, phone, or device.
Can I set up a customer account?
PayHip (the shopping cart platform used on Tonia Knits) allows customers to create accounts to access all their purchases from one account. To set up a customer account, open one of your purchase emails and follow the steps below.
This process also works if you have previously purchased products in the past. For more information, refer to this article.
You should find the following email in your inbox:

Click the ‘Get Started’ button at the bottom of the screen.
PayHip will direct you in the process for setting up your account.
How do I apply a coupon code?
Follow the steps below to apply a coupon code.
If you’d like to be notified of future sales, join the email newsletter list.
Coupons can also be used on Raverly. After putting the pattern in your cart apply the coupon code before checking out.
Click on the ‘Buy Now’ button and a shopping cart page will open.
Enter your email address (your download file will be delivered to this address so make sure it is correct).
Click on ‘Add coupon’.
Enter the coupon code in the box and click ‘Add Coupon’.
Enter your name and click ‘Download Now’.
A download page will open. Click the button to download the pattern to your computer, phone, or other device.
The pattern will also be sent to the email address that you provided during the checkout process.
I forgot to use a coupon code. Can I add it after purchasing?
Unfortunately, codes and discounts cannot be applied after a purchase is complete.
When purchasing on ToniaKnits.com, be sure to click ‘Add a Coupon’ and enter the code in the form, then confirm that the total is $0 before completing the purchase.
When purchasing on Ravelry, use the ‘Add to Cart’ option, add the code to the coupon code box and ensure the total is $0 before completing the purchase.
Why isn’t the discount code working?
If you are copying and pasting the code, ensure that there isn’t an extra space before or after the code.
Confirm that the code hasn’t expired. Timed sales and codes expire using Eastern Standard Time.
I purchased the pattern on Ravelry and I’m having trouble finding it.
Patterns that you purchase should be located in your Ravelry library. If you weren’t signed into your Ravelry account at the time of your purchase it will not show up in your library. To add the purchase to your library, open the download email that you received at the time of purchase and click the ‘add to library’ button in the email. If Ravelry doesn’t recognize the account associated with that email address, click the download button and add it on the next screen.

Can purchases made on the website be added to my Ravelry library?
Unfortunately, ToniaKnits.com pattern purchases cannot be added to your Ravelry library. Patterns need to be purchased directly through Ravelry to be stored in your library.
I purchased the pattern through my local yarn shop and I can’t find it.
If the pattern was purchased through the LYS sales option through Ravelry then it should be available in your Ravelry library. If you are unable to find the pattern in your Ravelry library, contact the LYS to have them resend the pattern to you.
Can I get a refund?
Due to the digital nature of the patterns, refunds are not available.
Knitting Questions
Is this pattern too hard for me?
Patterns include an estimated skill level and a list of required techniques. Skill levels are arbitrary (what may be easy for one knitter may be difficult for another). Refer to the list of techniques that are in pattern (included in the pattern description before purchasing AND in the pattern). You must be comfortable with those techniques or willing to learn them while knitting the pattern.
Can you help me modify the pattern?
Making modifications for a custom fit is a great skill for all knitters. While I cannot provide one-on-one support for each pattern, I offer a class called Knits that Fit that teaches various ways to modify top-down raglan and circular yoke sweaters (but the skills can be applied to any kind of sweater!).
How can I use a yarn other than the yarn recommended in the pattern?
Yarn substitution is an important skill for all knitters. I cannot provide advice about the yarn you would like to use but can provide some general guidelines. A good rule of thumb is to use a yarn that meets the same gauge as the pattern and has similar fiber content. For more information on yarn substitution, this video may be helpful.
Why doesn’t this pattern include written instructions for the stitch pattern?
In more complex patterns, the stitch patterns are charted but won’t include written instructions to save on space as the written instructions for a complicated pattern would take up a large amount of space. For colorwork patterns, written instructions are often more confusing than charted instructions.
Charts are a universal language that are easier for everyone to follow, no matter their native language.
I understand that not everyone enjoys working from charts, and most of the patterns here will include both written and charted stitch pattern instructions, but occasionally, when a pattern is more complex or it’s a colorwork pattern, there will not be written instructions.
