What is a set-in sleeve sweater?
A sweater with set-in sleeves refers to a sweater where the join between the body and sleeve sits along the top of the shoulder.
There are many ways to knit this type of sweater. During this workshop, we’ll be knitting our sweaters from the bottom up and focusing on how to create a set-in sleeve shape with short rows.
Class Supplies
You’ll need to purchase yarn and needles for completing a sweater.
You can use any fingering, sport, or DK weight yarn you have in your stash (6-8 100-gram skeins of yarn is generally plenty).
If you prefer to wait until class begins, just purchase one skein for swatching and you’ll learn how to estimate yardage for your sweater using your swatch and schematic.

A sweater with set-in sleeves is a type of sweater construction where the seam that joins the body and the sleeve sits along the top of the shoulder.
There are various ways to knit this type of sweater. In this class we’ll be focused on knitting a sweater from the bottom up and then picking up stitches around the armhole and working a short-row sleeve cap.
