The Blooming Cowl is an experiment to try a brushed merino yarn (something I had never used before – and it’s not the same as a brushed mohair!). The brushed merino adds a bit of a halo and some added texture to the fabric of the cowl (and it’s super soft!).
The cowl is knit lengthwise and then the provisional cast on stitches and final row are joined with a Kitchener graft. The pattern is a simple lace pattern on a background of Stockinette stitch with a 3-stitch I-cord edge at each side. When the ends are sewn together, it creates a completely seamless loop.
Stitch pattern includes both charted and written instructions. It also includes video links for the provisional cast-on and Kitchener graft.

This cowl is designed to be used with two yarns held together at a DK-weight gauge. The two yarns include a sock yarn held with a brushed merino lace weight yarn. The fabric has a textured, fuzzy appearance because of the brushed merino.
