Satura Beanie

This bulky-knit hat uses a simple repeating slip-stitch pattern that enhances the beautiful color of a variegated yarn. The slipped stitches are crossed every few rounds, creating longer strands of yarn that highlight the variegation. The pattern begins with a mistake-rib pattern that seamlessly flows into the slip-stitch design and, when the body of the hat is complete, stitches are quickly decreased to create a gathered crown.

Yarn

The Satura Beanie is designed with Bulky [CYC 5] yarn. The sample is worked in Malabrigo Mecha [colorway: Paysandu], a single-ply superwash merino wool that is soft and warm. The variegated yarn adds interest to the simple stitch pattern, but it would work well with any colorway.

Amounts listed below are approximate. Total yarn requirements will vary depending on the type of yarn used, gauge, and any alternations you may choose to make.
